They can also live anywhere from 6 months to 2 ½ years. Female roaches usually stay close to the 10-50 eggs they lay depending on the species while male roaches leave their hideout every night looking for food and water...more
Unfortunately for us spiders can live anywhere from 1-20 years depending on the species and they may bite us(humans) in self-defense or if they are bothered/threatened. The serious spiders to look out for are black widows and brown recluses. Both are considered dangerous to humans and please take extreme caution if you see one. Even though spiders are generally beneficial because they feed on other insects they tend to be a little scary looking and awful if they crawl on you so we will take care of the other pests and spiders that way you don’t need to keep your pet spiders around...more

Flying insects like Bees/Wasps can be nice to look at behind glass but when a bee or wasp flies in your face outside we can all relate to the mini-freakout. Bees are essential to our environment because they are pollinators. Pollinators by definition move pollen from one plant to another to causing fertilization. Only fertilized plants can create fruit and seeds.

Rodents are serious public health pests that can transmit diseases like typhoid and Hantavirus as well as carry organisms like bacteria and virus responsible for food poisoning through their urine, feces and hair. They generally live for about a year and that is a year too long in our opinion plus a single rat can eat about 20 to 40 pounds of food per year so let us save you a little money on your grocery budget and take care of those rodents for you...more
In Georgia there are about 100 species of ants. That is a lot of ants and with all the different types of ants it is important to understand the ant. Ants can be placed into four types of castes in a colony: workers (also called foragers they leave the nest and find food, they also consist of 1-10% of colony) , brood (egg, larvae, pupae), males (die shortly after mating), and females (sterile females stay in the nest to tend to the young). Ants are a food sharing group also called a "social stomach." Worker ants can't swallow solid food so they bring the food back and feed it to the larvae. The larvae then process the food and regurgitate that solid food to feed the workers and queen. Gross right?!
Ants species are divided into two groups; one group has only one queen and the other has multiple queens. Single ruling queens can live for 10 years or longer, whereas in multiple queen colonies the queens only lives for about a year.
Single-queen species consists of Carpenter ants, some fire ants and acrobat ants.
Multiple-queen colonies consist of Argentine ants, odorous house ants, and pharaoh ants.
How do you identify a German roach? You can identify a German roach (pictured above) by its lighter golden color and with the two black stripes behind its head. Adults are about a 1/2 inch long. Younger German roaches are almost black but you can still identify them with the two black stripes on the back of their head.
Why are German roaches a problem? Unfortunately, these roaches are some of the worst to see because of their multiplying ability and speed. German roaches lay around 40 eggs at a time and they generally hatch around the 2 month period. Also, female roaches will carry their egg capsules with them until 1 to 2 days before you go from 1 roach to 40 more roaches. You can go from a small problem to a large infestation very quickly if untreated, especially when German roaches live from 12-18 months. Also, German roaches can carry different types of bacteria which can cause food poisoning, asthma attacks, and rashes. Basically, they are unsanitary creatures that crawl over everything and spread lots of germs. Don't worry, we agree they are nasty!
Where do you find German roaches? They are generally found in kitchens but they can also hide in furniture and appliances which is terrible if you buy furniture or appliances from a warehouse or from someone else. It is important to do a thorough inspection when possible to ensure that no roaches are included in your purchase.
How to identify German roach droppings? You can identify their droppings as a small black dot like a single black dot from a pen on a piece of paper. German roach droppings will most likely be found in drawers, kitchen cabinets and on top of doors.
